Editor, Times-Union: I want to start out by saying how much of a pleasure it is driving on all the newly paved roads here in Warsaw.
Thank you to all the people from the top to the bottom here in our town for all the hard work and planning that is took to accomplish these tasks. This place is starting to look very good. Most people here in our area are what I call “house proud”. If you look you will find them improving their homes every chance they get. We are truly blessed!
On another note, I became worried four years ago when I heard people saying how bad things were in America and how we needed “Hope and Change”. The first thing I said was, hope for what and what kind of change? Then I asked my neighbors, actually everyone I could in L.A., are you working? Most people said they were and they were reasonably happy.
Now I fast forward to today. We are all worried about bills that made it through our houses and signed by our president and how they will change the outlook for everyone for a long time to come. Not to forget how many people are still out of work. We are also living with a leadership thats seems anti-business, no pipeline because I said so. If you want to mine for coal you will go bankrupt getting there.
We must ask ourselves, are we comfortable with this new hope and change or do we need another change? If we stay this course and keep with this current status quo, we are going to go by the way of the Titanic.
Everyone should put all feelings aside and ask, do I want this country to remain in the turmoil that this leadership has created or do we need to try a different approach? I believe wholeheartedly we need an optimist that loves this country and cannot sleep when he knows so many people are in dire straits. We do not have a leader that Lincoln would be proud of. I wonder how much time he spent on a golf course?
It has gone beyond a joke how the peacock we have sitting in our most famous chair perceives his duties. He’s like a spoiled kid that wants his way all the time and nobody is going to change his mind. We need a person that works well with others and listens to authorities in their fields.
Bill Gates got together several people from different fields and had a meeting to ask what they thought of many things in our world. I saw that exchange on C-SPAN. Whoever gets elected should do the same. Bring in experts in every field and break down our problems one by one and find solutions. They are there but we gotta look and be open minded and our current leader is not. Now we need hope and change big time.
