Oakwood Chapel Dedicated

Posted

Warren Tatter thanked Warsaw city officials for their support during the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Oakwood Chapel Tuesday.

Tatter, president of the Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents, said the chapel has already been favorably received and appreciated by mourners who have used it during inclement weather.

Available since February, the more-than-2,000-square-foot building accommodates about 245 people.

The board has decided to limit the last service to begin at 2 p.m.

John Sadler of McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home attended the dedication ceremony and said his clients are very appreciative of the building.

Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins and city councilman Bill Rhoades also were on hand.

Arrangements for use of the building can be made through a funeral director or by calling the Oakwood Cemetery office, 421 N. Maple Ave., 372-9553.

Cemetery board members are Tatter, Bob Sandy, Ellen Hoffer, Lewis Dobbins and Trish Brown, council representative.
