NWCPL Has New System

Posted
NORTH WEBSTER - The NWCPL has a brand new Integrated Library System, and it's up and running.

The library reported it is in the first group of Indiana libraries to join Evergreen Indiana. At this time, 19 libraries are on board and 230,699 patrons are being served. Items can be borrowed from any member library. If a patron of the NWCPL has not filled out an application for a new card, come in and do so. Patrons can fill out the application and leave it at the library, or take it with them and return it the next time they stop in.

In this time of economic woes, the library can be a resource. The library offers many free options. Books and DVDs are the obvious choice, but the library offers more.

For example, right now a genealogy/family tree maker class is being taught. The library also has programs for teens and children. Check out the "Lily Pad Press," the library newsletter which comes out monthly, for programs and classes. Pick up a copy in the library or access it on the Web site.

The Local History and Genealogy Center has several events on the schedule. Writers Corner will meet Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. Anyone is welcome to attend Writers Corner.

The LH&GC is gearing up for its third annual cemetery walk in September. Essays for nominations will be due by March 31. Another family tree maker class is scheduled for May.

Friends of the Library will meet Feb. 25 at 11 a.m.

Many other events are in the planning stages, and the NWCPL will continue to post dates and information.
