The latest nutrition program hosted by the Milford Public Library was Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Joan Younce, from the Kosciusko County Purdue Extension office, presented a program, 'Start the day the right way - Breakfast!' Twelve people listened to facts about breakfast and why it's such an important meal. Breakfast needs to have a good supply of protein in order to avoid a 10 a.m. slump. Younce demonstrated how to make a cranberry orange smoothie and garden scramble. Other recipes were shared. Megan Schmucker won the book, 'Banana-Berry Smoothies,' by Bekka Larraw as a door prize. Other doorprize winners were: Pam Dwyer won 'Essentials of Breakfast and Brunch,' and Nancy Levernier won the 'Gooseberry Patch Breakfast Brunch Recipes.' These books also are available at the library for check out. The next nutrition program will be in November.
