Nowhere Is Safe Anymore

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

For the past couple of weeks, network news reporters have told of the disappearance of a  young woman who went out at night for a run.

In this day and age, for any young person to go out alone at night is asking for trouble. It does not matter where we live, how young or old we are, even how strong anyone is  ... there is evil/trouble out there just waiting for a chance to strike.

It has happened way too often during my lifetime of 60 years, and I’m fed up with it!

If you have young children, teenagers or a daughter or granddaughter that you love, the first thing you need to teach them is common sense when it comes to their safety.

“Always mind your surroundings” — the first lesson young Bruce Wayne learns from Ras al Gaul in the film “Batman Begins.”

No woman or teenage girl should ever go out at night alone, especially jogging. Most certainly, they should never block their hearing with headphones or other devices.

Too many people live under the impression that the area they live in is safe from danger. If anyone reading this believes that for even a second, you are an idiot!

There is not one safe place anywhere in America.

With parolees, unknown persons with evil intent, illegal aliens, even perverse individuals whose families have kept their evil hidden; the sheer number of  human trash walking the streets of small towns and large cities in this nation is unbelieveable.

People must teach their children, male and female, how to fight to defend themselves, and be willing to defend others when necessary.

It galls me that the only people with real “protection” in this country are these slimeball politicians, the very trash whose stupid policies and selfish rules, actions and ambitions have opened the door for much of the spiritual darkness which has gripped this nation since the date of Nov. 23, 1963, the day after President Kennedy was killed.

I wish I could say there was hope that young woman was still alive and will come home safe, but I have seen way too much ugliness to even think that was possible.
