Not The Worst Shooting

Editor, Times-Union:
It has been all over the news that the massacre in Orlando was the worst ever in the history of the United States.
However, in Dec. 29, 1890, the U.S. Army massacred over 918 Indian men, women and children; and on Nov. 18, 1978, Jim Jones was responsible for the deaths at Jonestown of 918 men, women and children.
And it has been heavily debated when in 1993 the ATF agents raided the Branch Davidian compound after a 50-day siege who was responsible for the fiery deaths of 80 men, woman and children at the Koresh compound at Waco.
We should also not forget the American tragedy at Ruby Ridge on June 22, 1992, where an ATF sharp sharp shooter shot dead a young child, a dog and a woman holding a child.
A subsequent civil rights case was filed resulting in a $3.5 million settlement.
Before anymore about Orlando, I think the media should study their history books a little more closely.
