This letter is in response to Mr. Guard's very pathetic letter to the editor in Friday's Times-Union.
If Guard thinks his sending my letters to McCain is going to intimate me, I am very sorry to say it doesn't. For Guard's information, everything I wrote has been and still is in the public domain of not only past newspaper reports but are very much in the present ones as well. It is not my responsibility to defend McCain's record, it is his.
It is he who has to respond to the public about his congressional record. It is he who has to respond to the public about the 1991 Congressional Hearing where it was reported as to his conduct while he was a POW. It is for him to respond to the public why, as it has been reported, he placed amendments to a straight up or down voting bill. Amendments that were to kill a Congressional-investigation funded bill. A Congressional-investigation of all the reports of MIAs as true or not true. And if true, they needed to found and returned home, and if not true then have Congress report back to the public where the investigation says they may have disappeared to.
This man is running and campaigning to be president of this country. And as a citizen of this country I have the right to know if all these newspaper reports and these congressional hearings are valid. So if McCain wants me, then he can be certain that all these newspaper reports and the congressional reports will be made a part of this public record. In any case, its his public record that he has to defend.
When I served in this country's military service, I took an oath to not only protect but to defend the Constitution from all foreign enemies, but all the domestic ones as well. Just as all those who hold either a public service position or an elected office does. Guard took the same oath, only thing is, it would appear that by his standards a president or a senator can be above the law. They don't have to held accountable, but this is not what the Constitution says. Also under the Constitution, treason is addressed.
Mr. Editor, would it not be an act of treason if a group of those who hold public office supported forming a New World Government? In Guard's letter, he made reference to me and Metzger being joined at the hip. I have never met Metzger. But I have met a few Mr. Guards when I was in the service. In all cases, they were abusive, loud mouth, and despicable human beings to be around. Very few officers wanted to serve over them. And almost every man came to hate every minute that they were to serve under them. In time of war, most were the first to be sent home in body bags.
