J. H. Northrop, Akron, will present history and clothing and accouterments of re-enacting the Seven Years' War, which was the first world war ever.
The program will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Fulton County Museum.
The public is invited.Northrop is one of the founders of Seven Years' War Inc., and the Scots Greys, a British heavy cavalry unit renowned through history for its service record and use of grey horses.
He will tell about George Washington's part in the Seven Years' War 1756-1763, and how Washington resigned, a fact that is usually overlooked in history because he learned and went on to be a successful general in the Revolutionary War and America's first president.
Northrop will wear a uniform like that worn by Washington during the Seven Years' War. He will explain how the Seven Years' War changed the modern world.
