ROCHESTER — The Northfield wrestling team won the 2012 Three Rivers Conference Championships Saturday in Rochester.
Scoring a total of 211 points, getting three individual champions and three runners-up, Northfield claimed the title, while North Miami came in second with 181, followed by Tippecanoe Valley (174), Southwood (167), Manchester (155), Whitko (150), Rochester (144) and Wabash (57).
Individually, Tippecanoe Valley had three champions, including Devin Childers at 120, Trent Bauters at 160 and Wes Beck at 182.
Manchester and Whitko each had two champs, with Manchester’s Tristen Burnette (106) and Aaron Snep (285) winning titles, while Whitko’s Chas Busz (132) and Austin LaTourneau (138) also claiming championships.
Next up for the teams are sectionals Saturday, as Tippecanoe Valley travels to Plymouth, Manchester goes to Peru and Whitko travels to Carroll (Fort Wayne).
