North Webster Strengthens Sewer Language

Posted
The sewer disconnection and notice policy for North Webster now has some more teeth due to changes in wording.

According to Greg Gear, the street superintendent for North Webster, the wording has been changed to allow for stronger enforcement for those who are delinquint on their sewer bills.

Gear explained this to the North Webster Town Council Tuesday night during their monthly meeting at the North Webster Community Center.

"(The policy) has been a little ambiguos over the years," said town board president Jon Sroufe.

During his report, Town Marshal Greg Church asked for permission again to keep money set aside to purchase new in-car radios.

Church said he has continued to hold off on buying them until necessary.

The board delayed a decision until Church brought figures to next month's meeting.

Church also requested and as granted 275 hours of overtime for 2010.

Church was granted 275 hours of overtime in 2009 and used 166.5.

Sroufe said Church was "frugal" in his use of overtiems.

The board also approved the annual Winterfest to be in town from Jan. 29 to 31.

The board will next meet Feb. 16 at 6 p.m.
