North Webster Seeks Grant For Park Improvements

Posted

NORTH WEBSTER - North Webster may get a capital improvement grant for its park improvement project from the county.
That was the good news at the North Webster Town Council Meeting Tuesday night.
Clerk-Treasurer LeeAnn Jessop said an agreement will be made with HWC Engineering for help with the project at a discounted rate. The starting package is $8,000.
Improvements at North Webster Town Park include new signage, dredging and a new sidewalk.
“I sent a letter of intent,” said Jessop.
The grant committee will review the letter of intent, she said. She said the town could get up to a $500,000 grant, which is a matching grant. If the town doesn’t get the grant, the town will still move forward with the park project.
A meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 22 to go over the agreement and decide what is best for the town’s park and whether there will be a survey or any community engagement for the project.
HWC Engineering will also be at the next town council meeting Nov. 11 to give more in-depth information into what the concept plan will be.
