NORTH WEBSTER - A sewer extension project will cost $34,058 for service to the Kitson Group and Pier 13 Realty. Consultant Andy Dodzick of Dodzick Engineering recommended the town council accept the bid of R.E. Hammon Tuesday, which was approved.
The board accepted liability for the North Webster "wecome sign" on Ind. 13, south of town. The sign was provided by the North Webster - Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce and recently was damaged.
The Chamber will pay the insurance premiums.
The board approved a donation of $100 to the Chamber to help with Santa visit expenses. Usually the town donates $25 to the event.
A request for donations from the North Webster Daycare was tabled and will be considered next month if more information is provided.
Councilman Jon Sroufe said he wasn't sure such a donation was right for the town.
"We're not against day care," he said.
The board also:
Heard the park board will present a year end report in December.
Heard from town marshal Greg Church that people with vehicles having expired plates will be contacted before a code violation letter is sent.
Church also said he fielded just three or four leaf burning complaints this year. The council banned the buring of leaves a couple of years ago. Leaves are collected by the town.
The police department had 711.25 officer hours in October, Church said. The vehicles were driven 3,895 miles and 219 total calls were answered.
Approved a lease agreement with Pure Pleasure doing business as Pizza King. The restaurant occupies the building at the park.
Set the next meeting for Dec. 20.
Board members are Jon Sroufe, Travis Marsh and Jane Shepherd. Shepherd was absent.
