North Webster Man Killed By Car In Noble County

NOBLE COUNTY – A 31-year-old North Webster man was struck and killed Friday night in Noble County.

Dakota B. Fisher, 31, was walking north on the right shoulder of U.S. 33 around 9:30 p.m. Friday, south of Albion Road.

Preliminary investigation by Noble County Sheriff deputy C. Conwell indicates a silver 2004 GMC Envoy was traveling north on U.S. 33, approaching Albion Road, when the crash occurred. The Envoy came around the curve near the intersection and struck Fisher.

The Envoy was driven by 42-year-old Jose Juan Medina Espinoza, of Elkhart. Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene by the Noble County Coroner’s Office.

Espinoza was given a drug and alcohol test, both of which returned negative, according to the Noble County Sheriff’s Department.

The Indiana State Police was contacted to assist with the crash reconstruction, and toxicology results are pending for Fisher.

Assisting the Noble County Sheriff’s Department were Ligonier Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Noble County Coroner’s Office.

This crash is still under investigation.

Fisher leaves behind a wife, Dawn.

Funeral services are set for 7 p.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
