North Webster Man Hospitalized for High BAC

Posted
NORTH WEBSTER – Kosciusko County officers located a North Webster man with a dangerous blood alcohol concentration of .548 percent early Sunday morning.

Syracuse and Kosciusko County officers responded Sunday at approximately 8:26 a.m. to the area of CR 250E and LaPoint Drive in reference to a reported abandoned vehicle in the roadway.

Officers arrived and located a vehicle in the roadway with an incoherent subject inside who was identified as Bradley Martin Wine, 28, North Webster. As officers spoke to Wine, it was apparent his condition was deteriorating rapidly. Officers requested an ambulance at the scene.

Wine was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital in serious condition.

Investigating officers believe Wine had apparently run out of gasoline but continued to consume alcoholic beverages during the early hours of the morning, raising his BAC level to deadly levels.

Indiana’s current legal level of intoxication is .08 percent BAC, and most studies suggest that BAC levels of .50 percent or greater are normally fatal.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies will be forwarding information obtained at the scene, along with blood lab test results, to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office for potential charges related to the incident.
