NORTH WEBSTER – A North Webster man was arrested by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officers on alleged drug charges Monday.
Lynn Allen Umber, 58, of 41 EMS W14B Lane, North Webster, was taken into custody and preliminarily charged with two counts of dealing a schedule III controlled substance, a Class A felony, within 1,000 feet of a school, park or government housing.
Umber’s bond was set at $50,000 by Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Hampton.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers, with the assistance of KCSD deputies, served the felony warrant Monday after a recent undercover drug investigation.
Officers stated the drug oxycontin was purchased during two undercover controlled buys that occurred at undisclosed locations in North Webster and Syracuse.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers stated the investigation had been ongoing for “a substantial time” and that the agency had been working with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office to apprehend Umber.
The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force consists of officers from the KCSD that work with other law enforcement agencies to combat the use and sale of illegal and illicit drugs.
