NORTH WEBSTER - The North Webster Town Council tabled further action on a firearm ordinance until a final decision on a state bill came down.
Indiana State Bill 292 would prohibit local government from regulating any matter pertaining to firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories.
During Tuesday night's monthly meeting, the town council decided to write a letter stating they were against the bill.
North Webster Town Marshal Greg Church said he would also have a letter drafted stating his opposition to it as well.
During his monthly report, Church said there were no problems at the town's recent winter fest. He also said the town had no major issues during a winter storm earlier this month.
North Webster will hold its first Muskie Festival at May 6 and 7.
The council approved the purchase of a new pump and rebuild two for their air vac station B.
Wawasee will hold another cross country 5K event May 21. It will be the same course as last year.
Town council members are Jon Sroufe, Tim Hine and Lisa Strombeck. Strombeck wasn't present at Tuesday night's meeting.
