North Webster Gives Employees 3% Raises

NORTH WEBSTER - During its year-end meeting Wednesday afternoon, the North Webster Town Council voted to give all town employees a 3-percent pay increase.

That, however, excludes Clerk-Treasurer Betsy Luce and the town council who didn't take pay increases.

The board also gave Luce permission to transfer money from different accounts to ensure the 2010 budget ended balanced.

The council also approved encumbering several funds.

Tom Miller, from Severn Trent, went over a management report with the town council.

Miller will be at the council's first meeting of 2011, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m., to answer any questions.

Severn Trent is in charge of the town's streets and utilities.

Jon Sroufe was re-elected as town board president for 2011.

Other council members are Lisa Strombeck and Tim Hine.

Wednesday afternoon's meeting was held at the town hall, while typically regular monthly board meetings are held at the North Webster Community Center.
