NORTH WEBSTER – The council of North Webster met for the fourth time this year Tuesday to discuss the going-ons in the town.
Clerk-treasurer Betsy Luce asked the council if she could start looking for new software for her computer. The software being used now will no longer be maintained at the end of the year.
A member of the community asked if the storm drains were being worked on. Luce said the project is in the works.
Tammy Waliczek, parks department, told the board that they have a nominee to replace Park Board President Brian Sand, who resigned a few weeks ago. The board approved Steve Kemp to the board. Kemp will not take the president’s position, that will be determined by a vote at an upcoming meeting.
Street, water and sewer reported that there has been an addition to one of the stations in town. Impellers have been added and act as a “grinder” for the sewers. Since the addition of the impellers, pumps have not been clogged and they have received less calls to unclog the pumps.
Town Marshal Greg Church informed the council that the police department clocked in 745.25 hours and had 250 calls of service for the previous month.
The North Webster Town Council will meet again at 6 p.m. May 15.
