NORTH WEBSTER - On Saturday, the North Webster Community Center will host the largest Kid’s Business Fair on record in the county.
This year’s Kid’s Business Fair exceeds its entry numbers by twice the average booths with over 70 small youth businesses being represented from a tri-county radius, according to a news release from the NWCC.
Each youth entrepreneur is responsible for creating their own small business name, plan and product.
“They have everything from Lily’s Concrete Creations to Cookies and Advice with Nora and Bryce,” said NWCC event organizer Mike Kissinger. “This year has blown us away with sponsorships and entries.”
Community businesses showed support to The Center by providing sponsorships for T-shirts, marketing and prizes. The North Webster Tippecanoe Chamber of Commerce is presenting special memberships to each youth member Saturday.
“What we really need now is shoppers,” Kissinger said.
The young business owners have worked for months preparing products for this day. NWCC is preparing to have a building full of supporters this Saturday.
“We start Friday afternoon clearing the gym and now the hallways to set up booth spaces,” stated Emily Worrell, NWCC executive director. “We never dreamed we would run out of gym space, luckily we have the building space to support them all.”
The North Webster Community Center is home to the North Webster branch of Parkview Warsaw YMCA, the Senior Primelife Enrichment Center (SPEC), the Watershed Foundation (TWF), the Tippy/Chapman Sewer District and NWCC Massage plus a host of youth and adult programs.
