NORTH WEBSTER — The North Webster Community Center (NWCC) announced the Second Annual Mermaid Festival Pickleball Tournament, scheduled for Friday, June 20, as part of the community’s Mermaid Festival celebration.
The tournament will welcome players of all skill levels for a day of friendly competition, recreation and community engagement. As pickleball continues to grow in popularity nationwide, the event offers an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to come together and enjoy one of the fastest-growing sports in America, according to a news release from the NWCC.
The tournament will be held on the NWCC’s Jon Sroufe Memorial Mat with first-place trophies awarded in the following divisions:
• Co-Ed Doubles (Recreational)
• Co-Ed Doubles (Competitive)
• Men’s Senior Doubles
• Women’s Senior Doubles
• Women’s Doubles
• Men’s Doubles
Participants are encouraged to register early, as space is limited.

The North Webster Community Center will also host the second annual Mermaid Festival Sand Volleyball Tournament on its sand volleyball courts the same day. The double-elimination tournament is limited to six four-person co-ed teams. Community members interested in participating in the volleyball tournament may also contact the Community Center office for registration details.
