NORTH WEBSTER - Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., the North Webster Parents Teachers Friencs Organization will host the North Webster School Carnival.
This year's theme is "Caribbean Carnival," and all guests are asked to dress in Hawaiian garb.
The carnival will include some old favorites and many new things, too.
"If you've never been to the school, this is a great time to see what's going on with our local students and teachers," said Kristin Bonner, carnival chairman. "It promises to be a fun family event for all ages. There's something for everyone."
Among the activities to do will be Beach Blanket Bingo, jumping in inflatables and playing the old-fashioned carnival games, including a cake walk.
Each game win guarantees the player a token. Tokens can be redeemed in the "Treasure Chest" prize room.
Parents can buy wristbands for their children to wear, and they can play the carnival games all evening for one price. Tickets also will be available.
Raffle tickets will be sold for many prizes, including a Wii, a Trex bike, four tickets to a Cubs game, an evening valued at $200 to watch the Indiana Fever and others prizes.
The carnival is how the PTFO raises money to help teachers buy extra things for the classrooms. To help in tough economic times, students were offered the chance to pre-order Pizza Hut pizza and wristbands at a reduced rate. Both items will be offered at the carnival. There also will be hot dogs, sno cones, ice cream and baked goods.
