North Judson Driver Dies As Car Hits Semi TrailerA North Judson man was killed early this morning when his car collided with a semi at the intersection of U.S. 30 and CR 350W.
Kristopher R. Reed, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office official.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies and emergency personnel responded at approximately 6:40 a.m. today to a report of a semi/car crash at the intersection.
Deputies found a 2011 orange Dodge car had driven under a semi-trailer at the location. According to witness statements, the Peterbilt semi was traveling from northbound CR 350W onto westbound U.S. 30 and was slowing or stopping in the median. The Peterbilt’s trailer was then struck by the eastbound Dodge.
The driver of the 2015 Peterbilt was identified as Piotr Lubecki, 45, of Wheatfield. Lubecki was not injured in the crash.
Officers stated that the crash is under investigation. The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Atwood Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Warsaw Fire Department, the coroner’s office and the sheriff’s department.
