Norma J. Johnson, 76, died at 11:10 a.m. Feb. 27, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Warsaw, to Merle and Louise Alsberger Keplinger. On April 30, 1955, in Warsaw, she married Richard “Dick” T. Johnson, who survives.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw. She taught Sunday school to 2 and 3 year olds and she and Dick were part of the Care Bear Ministry (a shut-in visitation ministry). In earlier years she enjoyed camping and square dancing with Dick. She loved to watch and feed birds, enjoyed her flower garden and loved and was devoted to taking time for her family.

Also surviving are three sons: Steven (and spouse Sally) Johnson, Claypool; Douglas (and spouse Sue) Johnson, Milford; and James Johnson, Warsaw; a daughter, Catherine “Cathy” (and spouse Stuffy) Folds, Winona Lake; 12 grandchildren: Kurt (and spouse Jenny) Kruger; Angie (and spouse Wade) Benjamin; Stephanie (and spouse Tommy) Stutzman; Chad (and spouse Rachel) Kruger; David (and spouse Jamie) Johnson; Josh (and spouse Becca) Johnson; Skip Folds; Aaron (and spouse Amy) Johnson; Keri Kruger; Zackary (and spouse Melissa) Johnson; Hannah Johnson; Nathan Johnson; 18 great-grandchildren:  Wes, Tim, Wyatt, Bailey, Landon, Emily, Rylee, Ellie, Evelyn, Tarren, Elise, Kaylee, Annika, Hunter, Delaney, Deegan, Evan, and an expected baby; and three sisters: Betty Clark, Warsaw; Joan Castle, Pierceton; and Jeanette (and spouse Leroy) Eytcheson, Peotone, Ill. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Gereldine Peterson, Helen Pollock and Mildred Keplinger; four brothers, Melvin, Irvin, Richard and Fred Keplinger; and a stillborn grandson, Kris Kruger.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, 115 Park Ridge Drive, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Gary Boschain of the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
