NORTH MANCHESTER – Norma J. Haecker, 81, North Manchester, died at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 24, 2016, at Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester. She was born May 3, 1935, in North Manchester, to Harry and Bernice Westafer Frey. On Feb. 7, 1954, she married Charles R. Haecker, who died Jan. 2, 1986. She worked in the deli at Lance’s New Market for 26 years. She was a member of North Manchester First Brethren Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. Survivors include a son, Craig (and spouse Rita) Haecker, North Manchester; a daughter, Jo (and spouse Bill) Hays, North Manchester; four grandchildren: David (and spouse Crystal) Hays, Warsaw; Brian (and spouse Amber) Hays, Fort Wayne; and Addie Haecker and Kolby Haecker, both of North Manchester; and three great-grandchildren, Monica Harmon, Sophie Hays and Mabel Hays, all of Warsaw. She was preceded by a son, Terry Haecker; a daughter, Sherry Haecker; two sisters, Esther Straka and infant Margaret Frey; and a granddaughter, Zoe Haecker. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at North Manchester First Brethren Church, 407 N. Sycamore St., North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
