CLUNETTE - There was no tornado in the Clunette-Etna Green area Wednesday.
According to Mike Sabones, meteorologist in charge at the National Weather Service, northern Indiana, based on the information they gathered, the damage to a grain bin and telephone poles was caused by a "wind event."
There is no indication of a tornado, he said.
"As far as storm events go," said Sabones, "it was fairly minor."
Occasionally, Sabones said, a downburst of wind in a small area can cause damage in very isolated areas.
The empty grain bin belonged to the Clunette Elevator. A gas line also was severed at the facility.
