AKRON - Only minor injuries were suffered in a four-vehicle accident around 3 p.m. Wednesday, five miles south of Mentone, on Ind. 19 near CR 800S.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Blake Adkins, 17, North Schram Road, Warsaw, was making a left-hand turn onto Ind. 19 to go north as Scott Reese, 17, Ind. 19S, Akron, was southbound on Ind. 19. Adkins allegedly failed to see Reese's vehicle and pulled into the path of Reese's vehicle and they collided.
A vehicle driven by Virginia W. Higgins, 39, South Beaver Dam Road, Claypool, was stopped in the northbound lane of Ind. 19 to make a left-hand turn. The fourth vehicle, driven by Angela R. Kuhn, 39, West CR 700S, Claypool, was stopped behind Higgins' vehicle. After Adkins' and Reese's vehicles collided, Reese's vehicle was knocked into Higgins' and Kuhn's vehicles.
All injured persons refused medical attention.
A passenger in Reese's vehicle, Brandon Behny, refused medical treatment but later told officers he planned to have his arm treated for possible injuries. A passenger in Higgins' vehicle, Anna L. Higgins, 8, had minor glass cuts, but medical attention also was refused.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department investigated.
