A BMW rear-ended a Warsaw Community Schools bus Tuesday morning at the East Winona Avenue railroad crossing, though no injuries were reported. According to the incident report, Warsaw Police Department responded at 9:01 a.m. Tuesday to a bus and car accident on East Winona Avenue, 250 feet east of South Detroit Street at the railroad crossing. The accident was between a WCHS bus driven by Stacey E. Brown, 38, of 4633 E. CR 500S, Warsaw, and a white BMW car driven by Lori L. Widman, 49, of 111 Freedom Lane, Winona Lake. Widman told officers traffic was backed up because of a train crossing the road, then started to go again once the train passed. Widman said the bus stopped at the railroad crossing and she slammed on her brakes, but was unable to stop before rear-ending the bus. According to the police report, there were three students on the bus at the time of the collision. Everyone involved in the accident advised they were fine and uninjured. Both vehicles drove away from the scene. Damage was estimated at $2,500 to $5,000.
