Posted
A Sunday night fire in Warsaw was quickly contained but caused substantial damage.

The Warsaw Fire Department responded to a fire at 611 S. Washington St. after neighbors reported smoke coming from the home.

WFD believes the fire started in the living room, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Crews were able to control the fire in 16 minutes, and nobody was in the residence at the time.

WFD officials couldn't confirm the owner of the building, but property records indicate the building is owned by Amy Li Chow, Harmony Court, Winona Lake.

While the fire was controlled in less than 20 minutes, the blaze caused an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.

WFD was assisted by Winona Lake Fire Department, Multi-Township EMS and Pierceton Fire Department.
