LEESBURG - Two residents escaped injury after an early morning fire at their home in Leesburg.
Geri Grisso's rental home at 302 E. Van Buren St. caught fire in the ceiling above the living room just after 7 a.m. Sunday.
She and her mother, name unavailable, were able to get to a neighbor's house and call 911.Plain Township crews arrived at 7:20 a.m. and had the fire under control in an hour, according to Plain Township Fire Chief Mitch Rader.
Rader said there were 21 firemen at the scene, and Milford Fire Department assisted.
Multi-Township EMS was on stand-by while the Red Cross arrived to help Grisso and her mother.
Rader said the cause of the fire is undetermined, though it appeared to be electrical in nature.
Though the fire was under control in an hour, crews were on scene until 11:09 a.m.
