Warsaw Police responded to a bomb threat called in at Kmart at approximately 5:50 p.m. Tuesday. As emergency personnel arrived, the shopping center at 3350 Lake City Highway, Warsaw, was evacuated. The store employee who received the call stated that it lasted around 10 or 15 minutes and the caller, who he said had a Middle Eastern accent, told the employee to not call the police or inform the other employees. The caller would not give his name or a description or location of the alleged bomb. The store was searched and no evidence of a bomb was found. Kmart managers also advised police that multiple Kmarts nationwide have received similar bomb threats and all stores had been notified of the incidents. The shopping center was reopened after completion of the search, which lasted just over an hour. The investigation is ongoing by the Warsaw Police Department Investigations Division.
