DUNLAP – Wawasee advanced a pair of swimmers in two events each to Saturday’s sectional finals at Concord Thursday. Seven other swimmers also qualified for tomorrow’s consolation rounds. Logan Brugh advanced to the finals with a fourth-place finish in the 500 freestyle and a fifth-place in the 200 free. Brady Robinson moved to the finals in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke. Advancing to Saturday’s consolation races were: Danny Allen in the 200 free and 100 backstroke; Logan Haessig in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly; Chase Ritter in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke; Owen Donahoe in the 500 free and 100 breaststroke; Ethan Knepp in the 50 and 100 free; Isaiah Metcalf in the 200 IM; Jacob Cowan in the 100 butterfly; and Brett Willaman in the 100 backstroke. Wawasee’s 400 freestyle relay team of Knepp, Haessig, Robinson and Brugh qualified fourth in 3:39.42. The 200 freestyle relay finished sixth in the prelims, and the 200 medley relay team was seventh. The sectional meet at Warsaw, with Tippecanoe Valley and Manchester swimmers competing, was postponed to 5:30 p.m. today.
