ROCHESTER – Ninabelle Swick, 93, of 7737 W. CR 1000S, Akron, died at 8:29 p.m. Sept. 3, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Miami County to Wallace and Bertha Zegafuse Powell. On Nov. 22, 1939, in Macy, she married Orval Glenn Swick, who preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1988.
She worked for the former Chamberlain Products of Akron, and also was a farmer’s wife, taking care of many farm duties.
She was a 1938 graduate of Macy High School. She was a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church since 1939. She was an avid Tippecanoe Valley High School boys basketball fan, traveling to most all home and away games. She enjoyed gardening and yard work.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean (and spouse Keith) Moore, Swayzee; two sons: Terry G. Swick and Eddie (and spouse Lena) Swick, all of Akron; five grandchildren: Nathan (and spouse April) Moore, Andrea Moore, Serena (and spouse David) Smith, Tracey Swick and Sergey Nemtsev; and eight great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three brothers: Earl, Rex and Harold Powell; and three sisters: Helen Mullendore Sink, Clara Barnhisel Smith and Edyth Rohr; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Swick.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, Akron, with Pastor Butch Troke officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
