AKRON – Nina Faye Opple, 89, formerly of Akron, died at 9 p.m. June 9, 2013, in Life Care Center, Rochester, where she resided.
She was born Dec. 23, 1923, in  Miami County, to Andrew and Bessie L. Hinsey Funnell. On June 24, 1945,  in Chili, she married Elbert Lorraine Opple, who died Feb. 8, 1997.
She was a bookkeeper, a bank teller and a homemaker. She attended  Akron Church of God and was a volunteer at Akron Elementary School.
Surviving are a son, Ronald J. (and spouse Alice) Opple; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two sisters and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m, Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
