ST. LOUIS, Mich. – Nilah Jean Anderson Netzley, 88, of St. Louis, Mich., and formerly of Owosso, Mich., died Feb. 12, 2014, at Grand Haven Assisted Living, Lansing, Mich. She was born Feb. 23, 1925, in Hartford City, to Howard C. and Thelma S. Wright Croy. On Aug. 11, 1983, she married Earl J. Netzley, who died Nov. 22, 2010, after 27 years of marriage. She was a registered nurse in Haiti from 1958-1962 and returned there several times after. She enjoyed quilting, dried flower arranging, teaching dried flower arranging and playing bridge and pinochle. She enjoyed wintering in Florida and fishing trips to Canada. She was a member of Wheeler Immanuel Lutheran Church. Surviving are two sons, Jim Anderson, Vernon, Mich., and Jeff Anderson, Perry, Mich.; a daughter, Joyce Anderson, Holt, Mich.; three grandchildren: Kristel and Alisha Anderson, both of Perry; Jacob Anderson, Lansing: two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Cash; two stepdaughters, Tanarae (and spouse John) Lemmermann, Ithaca, Mich., and Pamela Haynes, Sunrise, Fla.; a stepson Denis (and spouse Brenda) Netzley, St. Louis, Mich.; two brothers, John (and spouse Loretta) Croy, Warsaw, and Herman (and spouse Doris) Croy, Fort Wayne; two sisters, Eileen (and spouse Stan) Cook and Janice (and spouse John) Roberts, both of Warsaw; a sister-in-law, Alice Croy, Ocala, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Baby Anderson; a grandson, Matthew James Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Tracy Marie Anderson; and brother, Kenneth Croy. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
