NORTH MANCHESTER – Nila D. Fawcett, 100, died at 7:05 a.m. Feb. 2, 2015, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Petroleum, to Lewis Burgess and Chella Schooley. On June 2, 1940, she married Paul W. Fawcett, who died Nov. 25, 1990. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Petroleum High School, and was employed with Controls Corporation of America for 10 years. She was co-owner with her husband of several eating establishments through the years. Surviving are two sons, Larry (and spouse Karen) and Bob Fawcett, all of North Manchester; a daughter, Paula (and spouse Frank) Mossberger, Tuscon, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Allen, who died in October 1994. Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester, with Pastor JP Freeman officiating. Burial is at a later date in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Peabody Chapel, 400 W.
