Nick Patterson Memorial Fund to Provide Athletic Camp Scholarships

AKRON - The Nick Patterson Memorial Fund has been established to provide support for athletic camp scholarships for male students in grades K-8 in the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. and the Rochester Community Schools.
Basketball, baseball and football camps will have priority in the selection process.
To apply for funding, interested male students must complete the Nick Patterson Memorial Fund - Application for Funds. The application must be signed by the student's parent or guardian, accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a teacher or coach, and submitted to the Northern Indiana Community Foundation Office in Rochester on or before May 16. Applications are available from the offices of Akron Elementary School, Mentone Elementary School and Tippecanoe Valley Middle School.
Sgt. Nicholas "Nick" James Patterson attended Rochester High School and was a vital part of the basketball and baseball programs. Patterson died Sept. 10 while participating in combat operations in Iraq. He is survived by his wife Jayme Saner Patterson, a graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School, and their son, Reilley.
Family, friends and members of the community as a tribute to Nick Patterson created the Nick Patterson Memorial Fund.
