Limitless Park Fundraiser Set Bob Evans, 3100 E. Center St., Warsaw, will host a fundraiser for Winona Lake Limitless Park Oct. 3. Each patron that presents the fundraiser voucher at checkout will have 15 percent of their bill donated to WLLP. Construction on Phase I, the splash pad and a portion of the parking expansion, is forecasted for completion by late 2014. Phase II will include a beyond ADA-compliant playground, sensory stations for children with visual, auditory and cognitive challenges, year-round restrooms, additional parking, new sidewalks and landscaping. Winona Lake Limitless Park committee is actively pursuing the remaining capital needed for Phase II and its groundbreaking in 2015. The total cost of both phases is estimated at $2.2 million. Statue Exhibit To End The community has now until Sunday to view the Seward Johnson statues that are in downtown Warsaw. People also can vote for the best photo taken with the statues. Road Construction Starts Thursday The City of Warsaw Department of Public Works has announced road construction for Ranch Road from Ind. 15 south to Salman Drive. Milling will be Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Paving will begin on Monday at 7 a.m. Ranch Road will remain open, but expect delays.
Salvation Army Sale Underway The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is conducting its annual fruit and nut fundraiser to support the work of The Salvation Army in Kosciusko County. “This fundraiser is a great way for us to raise awareness on the good work of The Salvation Army in our community,” said Ruth Casner, president of the group. County GOP Women’s Club Met Kosciusko County Republican Women's club held its monthly meeting Saturday. Joetta Mitchell, candidate for county recorder, and Michelle Puckett, candidate for county auditor, spoke about their vision and duties of their respective positions. Both pledged that they would be transparent, efficient and respectful of their constituents. The new sweatshirt logo was unveiled. The calendar of events are as follows: Oct. 1, Republican fish fry and bake sale.; Oct. 17, Hall of Fame Dinner at Champagne Jam. Congresswoman Jackie Walorski will be the keynote speaker.
