Health Department Warns Of Ticks
Kosciusko County Health Department is encouraging everyone to take precautions to prevent tick-borne disease.
Indiana State Department of Health is doing a study that involves testing black-legged deer ticks to see if they are carrying Lyme disease. Early results demonstrate Kosciusko County and Northern Indiana have moderate to significant risk for Lyme disease. More information will be released when it is available, according to a news release from the health department.
Ticks live in woody and bushy areas. Take precautions such as wearing protective clothing and insect repellant. If you have been in high tick areas, shower and inspect for ticks.
