Paddle Boarding Offered Monday
The city of Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department is offering free community paddle boarding Monday from noon to 6 p.m. at Pike Lake beach.
No registration is required. An annual waiver and rules sheet must be signed by each participant, or a parent if the person is under age 18.
Participants under the age of 16 must have a parent in the water with them. Paddle boards are available for community use.
Paddle boards are first come, first served and may be used in timed increments. All equipment and life vests are provided. All participants will be briefed on safety measures prior to paddle boarding. All paddle boarding will be supervised by staff.
The next paddle boarding dates and time are: July 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and July 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

2018 Winona Lake Flotilla Winners Named
WINONA LAKE – The 2018 Winona Lake Flotilla theme of “Jungle Safari” was deemed a huge success by organizers as it brought out a fleet of decorated boats for the event on Winona Lake Sunday.
Winners receiving trophies and gift baskets donated by Winona merchants were, first place, “Where the Wild Things Are”; second place, “Wild About Winona”; third place, “Res”; fourth place, “Welcome to the Jungle”; fifth place, “African Queen”; and sixth place, “Samson.”
Other entries included “Endless Summer,” “Swanson Safari Cruise,” “Margaretti Ville,” “Paul Safari,” “Banana Boat,” “Grand Safari Jumanji” and “Camo.”
A theme and date for the 2019 flotilla will be announced soon by the flotilla committee.
