Rotary Grilled Chicken Barbecue Is June 16
NORTH MANCHESTER – The Rotary Club of North Manchester will host its grilled chicken barbecue picnic fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 16 in the Warvel Park Pavilion.
Proceeds will help the club support education and youth leadership programs.
An adult meal with two pieces of chicken, two sides, chips and a drink is $10. A half meal is also available for children and those with smaller appetites, with one piece of chicken, one side, chips and a drink for $5.
Guests may eat in or take out. The club also expects to have some chicken left over at the end and will sell it by the piece.
There will be a kid’s corner for games.
The event will help the club aid the Early Learning Center and North Manchester Library. It will also support such efforts as scholarships for Manchester High School students, the MTA book giveaway, Junior Achievement, education for conflict resolution, sponsoring North Manchester students for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp and bringing students to the annual World Affairs Conference at Manchester University.
Collier’s School Of Dance Recitals This Weekend
Students of Debra Collier’s School of Dance will perform in the studios 41st annual recitals, “Service with a Smile!” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Sunday at the WCHS Performing Arts Center.
Over 100 students will be recognized during the awards ceremonies for five or more continuous years of study.
“We are very proud of the students, their dedication and hard work,' said Deb Collier. “It is exciting to celebrate their accomplishments.”
Instructor Kristina Collier will also be recognized for her 20th anniversary of teaching at the studio.
“Kristina has inspired so many students throughout the years, teaching them so much more than dance. I am very thankful to have her sharing her artistry, creativity and passion for dance with everyone,” said Deb Collier.
Tickets will also be available at the door.
