Wawasee Choir To Perform At Epcot SYRACUSE – On Dec. 20, the Wawasee High School Choir students will perform at Epcot in Disney World in Florida in the Candlelight Processional. The students were required to audition, and were selected to perform. The Candlelight Processional is a collaboration of all sacred pieces with accompaniment and narration. It tells of the birth of Jesus with arrangements of old favorites such as “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “What Child Is This”, “Do You Hear What I Hear”, “Joy To The World”, “O Holy Night” and “Away In A Manger.” The Candlelight is a 45-minute presentation and culminates with “Hallelujah Chorus” by George Handel. The students will perform with approximately 300 high school choir students, a professional Disney orchestra and singers. There also is a guest narrator. Trace Adkins is the narrator for the performance on Dec. 20. They will perform the Processional twice while at Epcot. The students will leave the school Dec. 18 and return Dec. 23. The choir students are busy raising close to $40,000 for the trip. The students are selling business ads, and will be holding a Nelsons Golden Glo barbecue and car wash June 1. The students are taking pledges for the car wash. Any patron interested in helping the choir with the fun can contact Director Connie Meadows at the high school at 574-457-3147.
