4-Way Stop To Be Placed In Etna Green
ETNA GREEN – The Indiana Department of Transportation will be installing stop signs at the intersection of Ind. 19 and Main Street/Broadway Street in Etna Green.
The intersection will be converted to an all-way-stop, meaning traffic on both Ind. 19 and Main Street/Broadway Street will have to stop. Under the configuration in place for years, traffic on Ind. 19 could turn at will, while eastbound traffic on Broadway Street and southbound Main Street traffic had to stop.
The change is expected to be made today.
The decision was made after INDOT completed a district-wide assessment of unique 90-degree intersections. The assessment reviewed data such as crash history, sight-distance, average speed, traffic volume and other factors.
