ISP To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint In Kosciusko County
Troopers with the Indiana State Police Bremen Post will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Kosciusko County Friday night as part of Operation Pull Over.
Drivers that encounter this checkpoint are asked to have their driver’s licenses and registrations available for troopers. Time spent at the checkpoint will be minimal, according to a news release from the ISP.
The purpose of sobriety checkpoints is to remove drivers that are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and pose a risk to others on the roadways. Impaired drivers cause billions of dollars in property damage, personal injury and death annually, the release states.
Consider the following tips:
• Use a designated driver.
• If you are hosting a party, offer non-alcoholic drinks as an option.
• Don’t let friends drive drunk. Offer to get them a ride or spend the night.
