Warsaw 7-12th Dismissed Early Friday

Students in grades 7-12 of Warsaw Community Schools will be dismissed at 11 a.m. Friday. This is the end of the second term, and is a records day for staff.

All WCS students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade will attend school all day Friday.

Sidney Seeks Mowing Bids

SIDNEY - The next Sidney Town Board meeting will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Jackson Township Fire Station.

The town is currently accepting bids for mowing of the Sidney ball diamond. Interested parties should submit bids to:

Milford Library 100th Birthday Celebration

MILFORD - The Milford Public Library is looking for volunteers to serve on a committee to organize and plan the library's 100th birthday celebration. The library's 100th birthday is Dec. 12 and the staff would like to celebrate all year long with some special events and activities. Those who want to serve on the committee, contact Julie Frew at 574-658-4312.



Adult Winter Reading Program

MILFORD - "Cozy up to a Good Book" is the theme of the 7th annual Adult Reading Program. For every book or book on tape/cd that is completed, participants will get a drawing slip. Each week one drawing slip winner will be chosen. The winner will get to spin the wheel of prizes. Come sign up today. It will continue until March 31.

Last week's winner in the adult reading club is Nancy Hickman. The next drawing will be Friday, so come in and join the club and start reading.



'The Grapes of Wrath' Book Discussion

MILFORD - There will be a book discussion group on the book "The Grapes of Wrath" scheduled today at 6:30 p.m. at the Milford Library.

This year's Big Read is "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck. If you have not read this book, pick up a copy at the Milford Public Library, read and enjoy it, and then return it to the yellow bin so someone else may read the book. The yellow bins will be in the library through February.

Adult Winter Reading Program participants can get a special prize if they read this book.

Milford Dial-A-Story

MILFORD - This week's dial-a-story at the Milford Public Library changed to "The Golden Cobweb" Wednesday. Call 574-658-9540 to hear the story.



Family Movie Day Change

MILFORD - The Family Movie Day that was scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. in the Milford Library meeting room was changed to Friday. The change is due to Wawasee Community School's adjustments to their calendar.

Students went to school Monday all day. On Friday the students will have early dismissal at 12:30 p.m. The movie, "Zoom" is about former superhero Jack, who is called back to work to transform an unlikely group of ragtag kids into superheroes at a private Academy.

Scrapbooking Program

MILFORD - There will be a scrapbooking class at 6:30 p.m. for all ages at Milford Library. The class is limited to 15-20 participants. Sign-up at the adult desk. Participants need to bring a few pictures to scrapbook. There is no fee for this class.

Winter Lapsit At Milford Library

MILFORD - Winter Lapsit with Miss Tina at Milford Library has been extended into the first two Tuesdays in March at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. This is due to closing of the library due to weather.

Spring Lapsit with Miss Tina will be Tuesdays, April 3-24 at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Sign up will begin March 20.

Milford Library Knitting Club

MILFORD - Knitting Club will meet at Milford Library March 15 at 6 p.m. in the library meeting room. Everyone is welcome to attend.

PTO Carnival Cookie Walk

MILFORD - The Milford Public Library will again be doing the Cookie Walk at the Milford PTO All School Carnival March 16 in the school gym.

Preschool Spring Storytime

MILFORD - Preschool Spring Storytime will be Wednesdays, March 21 - April 25 at 10 a.m. Sign up will begin March 7.

Silver Lake Seeks Queen Contestants

SILVER LAKE - Queen contestants and sponsors are needed for the annual Silver Lake Days Festival. The festival will be June 15-16.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants.

Quilt Raffle March 19

SILVER LAKE - The drawing for the homemade quilt raffle will be March 19.

Tickets for the drawing are $1 each or six for $5.

To purchase tickets, contact any member of the Silver lake Lions Club or call 574-491-2716, 260-352-2771, or 574-267-5858. Tickets also are available each Saturday night at Silver Lake Lions bingo.

All proceeds will benefit local Lions projects.
