WNDU 16 anchor Joel Schipper (L) and cameraman Brandon Kusz visited Lakeview Middle School this morning.
All eighth-graders in language arts at the Warsaw school created their own newscasts. Each student did four different segments, including world, nation, sports and weather.
Schipper agreed to come in and talk to the students after the four-week unit finished. Schipper talked to the students about what it takes to do the news, education required, the importance of writing and internships.
Students also had the opportunity to ask him questions. Before his presentation, he said the segment may air on the South Bend station’s news tonight and maybe Saturday morning between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m.
