New Technology Helps Warsaw Students Excel

Posted
School is in full swing at Warsaw Community Schools and students are benefiting again this year from the video-on-demand tool allowing instructors in the classroom to provide more than 2,500 educational programs and 40,000 teaching segments to students in grades K-12.The learning product, known as Core Curriculum Content, was developed by New Dimensions Media and is offered by EMBARQ's TekNet IP Integrated System. CCC features video, audio, animation and text resources that allow instructors in the classroom to provide high-quality media support to existing grade-appropriate curriculums.

CCC was given to the school district last year through a partnership with EMBARQ. Warsaw Community Schools was the first school system in the 18-state EMBARQ footprint to benefit from the video-on-demand program. This teaching product is being used in 10 Warsaw schools and the administration building, a value of more than $92,000 for the life of the agreement

"Students are having fun while learning important lessons," said Jack Moore, EMBARQ public affairs manager. "It's very satisfying to be able to assist in the learning experience at Warsaw Community Schools by bringing technology into their classrooms."

Through its unique and exclusive software features, Warsaw Schools can add their own video, audio and flash content as well as webcast student announcements. Classroom LIVE! allows homebound students and teachers to see what's happening in the classroom as well as provide other distant learning opportunities. CCC also is available for students to access from home or to download to their iPod.

"The CCC learning product has had a positive effect on our school as well as the whole community," said Ralph Bailey, interim superintendant of Warsaw Community Schools. "We are so pleased to partner with EMBARQ to bring this tremendous technology into our classrooms, the benefit to our students is immeasurable."
