Music lovers will find a variety of styles during the 2009-10 Lakeland Community Concert Association concert season.

Up first is Home Free, an acapella group. The comedy and four-part harmony group will kick off the concert season Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Rodeheaver Auditorium, 9005 Park Ave., Winona Lake.

Home Free is built upon the acoustic beauty of acappella singing, combined with a vocal percussionist. Home Free has been entertaining audiences all over the Midwest since 2000.The Notre Dame Glee Club comes to Rodeheaver Auditorium Oct. 18 at 2 p.m.

The glee club continues the musical tradition that began in 1915. More than 2,000 young men sang with the glee club over the years. Drawing on a repertoire of music from ancient polyphony to modern pieces, the Notre Dame Glee Club entertains thousands of fans around the world every year. Recently, the club completed a 28-day tour of Europe, stopping in Dublin, Paris, Vienna, Munich and Rome.

Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra returns to the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center. This year, the concert will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 20.

Now performing its 65th season, the orchestra has been a part of Fort Wayne's musical heritage continuously since its debut in October 1944. The Philharmonic dramatically expanded its concert programming in the 1945-46 season, presenting 14 programs with William Kapell, violinist Yehudi Mehuhin and tenor Mario Lanza, among the guest artists.

Today, the orchestra carries on its musical tradition under the artistic direction of Jaime Laredo, while undergoing its music director search.

Its 480 orchestra and chamber ensemble performances are attended by more than 220,000 people.

On March 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Rodeheaver Auditorium, Riders in the Sky will take to the stage.

With more than 28 years and more than 5,200 performances under their belt, Riders in the Sky are a multi-Grammy Award-winning Western music group. Their music is grounded in the American music traditions of such cowboy singers as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers.

The music group formed in 1977, and includes Ranger Doug, Woody Paul, Too Slim and Joey. With their recent induction into the Walk of Western Stars in Newhall, Calif., they continue on their long careers.

Closing out the LCCA concert season will be Daniel Rodriguez on April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Rodeheaver Auditorium.

The world knows Rodriguez as the tenor who lifted the spirit of America in the wake of the Sept. 11 tragedies. Immortalized forever at that time as the "singing policeman," Rodriguez continues to uplift hearts and minds with his voice and showmanship.
