SYRACUSE – Many new faces will be featured as lead actors in the Lakes Area Players’ 11th presentation of “Christ’s Passion” play. “Rehearsals have begun and people of all ages and walks of life are coming together to share the story of Easter,” said Lakes Area Players Director Elaine Pearson. “Those who have attended Christ’s Passion in the past will see a lot of new faces in the lead roles.” Portraying Jesus is Jason Dorsett, Etna Green. “He has been with the players for nearly three years and has a love for God and also theater,” Pearson said. “Jason will be remembered from the madrigal dinner as ‘Sir Jason,’ who was aspiring to be a court jester.” Joining him will be Raymond Moomau, Warsaw, as Pontius Pilate. “Raymond has been with the players for about 10 years and remembered as Artemus, a Roman guard,” Pearson said. Rod Urick, Milford, who in past years portrayed Pontius Pilate, will be taking on the role of the disciple Peter. “These parts can be very taxing on how each one is playing the role due to interpretation of the Scriptures and the emotions that must be acted out in each scene,” Pearson said. “All three men are up to the challenge.” Performances are March 18, 19, 20, 25 and 26h and will be held in the Activities Center at Quaker Haven Camp on Dewart Lake, south of Syracuse, at the crossroads of CRs 900N and 500E. Tickets are $7 advance purchase general admission; $10 advance purchase Gold Circle seating; $10 general admission tickets at the door. Tickets may be purchased by calling Quaker Haven Camp at 574-834-4193. For more information, call Pearson at 260-856-2287 or visit the website at www.lakesareaplayers.com.
