It's only her second week on the job, and already she had to contend with the chamber's biggest annual event.
Joy McCarthy-Sessing, the new president of the Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce, used the opportunity to meet as many people in the community as she could.
"Everybody's been very friendly, very accommodating. I've gotten a very warm welcome," she said earlier this week.
Getting acclimated to northern Indiana from Richmond, hunting for real estate in Kosciusko County, and meeting the movers and shakers in the area have kept McCarthy-Sessing busy since she began Jan. 5.
So far, she is pleased with everything she has found.
"My background is in economic development, and an attractive thing about Kosciusko County is its stable economic base," she said.
Her priority is working with the existing industrial base and "taking care of what we already have," she said.
"I think the chamber has a very strong foundation and can be made even stronger."
