Happening at the KCH Health & Wellness Center Thursday from noon to 1:30 p.m. is an event where all area employers, human resource professionals or managers are invited to attend a networking luncheon followed by demonstrations. The local companies will be exposed to a variety of screenings, many at minimal or no cost, that are available to their employees with the goal for local employers to decrease healthcare and insurance costs through prevention screenings. The catalyst for employee health screenings include: – lowering Workers’ Compensation costs – enhancing performance, productivity and morale – promoting greater employee loyalty – decreasing absenteeism – lessening short-term disability – improving ability to attract and retain key personnel. On Thursday, employers will be exposed to how a health fair can be modeled for the individual company’s needs. Various healthcare screening services will be introduced through hands-on demonstration for sleep services, pediatrics, women’s imaging, rehabilitation, employee wellness and screenings, vein care, occupational health, neurology screenings and cancer screenings. The screenings will be demonstrated or introduced by healthcare professionals as they would be brought onsite, to local employers, again with an overall purpose of improving employee health through prevention.
